WHAT SHOULD I SAY

Zacharias said to the angel, "How will I know this for certain? For I am an old man and my wife is advanced in years." The angel answered and said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news. And behold, you shall be silent and unable to speak until the day when these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time." Luke‬ ‭1:18-20‬

This time of year Christians all over the world turn to their Bibles and read once again the Christmas story. How God created in Mary who was a virgin, a Son, Jesus. Impossible for a virgin yet she believed the Word (Luke 1:35) and it was so. Impossible became possible.
We read in the Christmas story of a couple named Zacharias and Elizabeth (Luke 1:13-21) and how in their old age Elizabeth would bear a child as well. The Word came to Zacharias her priestly husband. It was a Word that came from the very presence of God (Luke1:19). However because of doubt and unbelief God disabled Zacharias speech and he could not speak a word. (1:20)

Are you silent in the matters of faith and the promises of God? Does your situation seem impossible? Are you given to thoughts of defeat? Is your key phrase or life verse “I can’t do that”. Could it be that you suffer from doubt and unbelief in the deep of your heart.
Take heart...read and reread The Christmas Story until Mary’s phrase becomes your “life verse”. (Luke 1:38) ‘Behold the bond-slave of the Lord, may it be done to me according to Your Word.’ In verse 37 God promised impossible. Because of the life verse of Mary...God did impossible. Need the impossible? Need to come out of silence? Trust God’s ability in you and pray; Lord Behold your bond-slave may it be done to me according to YOUR WORD.

May your Christmas be filled with the wonder and joy of the presence of the Lord.
