GREAT GRACE

“On the day I called, You answered me; you made me bold with strength in my soul” Psalm 138:3

When the psalmist wrote these words, he makes it sound so easy to talk and get an answer from God. He called on God, God answered and made his inner person strong with the strength of God.

Inner strength. The strength to go through a tough time without compromising. The strength to endure adversity without taking short cuts. The strength to follow the commands with integrity.

The grace the psalmist receive from God to have this ‘soul strength’ came from the position he put himself when he spoke and lived his life before God.

Listen a little deeper to the psalmist heart. In his heart and in his everyday life he did four things:

He gave thanks to God instead of arrogance, he sang praises instead of complain, he bowed or humbled himself instead of taking a stand for his own rights, he embraced God’s mercy and truth instead of looking to get something from God through entitlement. The result of that is, God gave the psalmist what he truly needed to be a king. God gave him ‘soul strength’.

Thanks and praise from a bowed heart that will receive God’s mercy in truth. Wow!

God says of Himself, I am closest to the humble and contrite in heart. The presence of God. The one that is...All Mighty. Our position before God matters if we want to hear an answer from God. By faith pray.
