“But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.” Hebrews‬ ‭10:39‬ ‭NASB‬‬

When the writer of Hebrews wrote these words there was great difficulties in Jerusalem, and Rome. The Christians homes were being confiscated by the government, persecution and sickness were daily life for a believer.

It was a day the the light shined bright in the darkness. It shone so bright we have the account of it two thousand years later in the book of Hebrews.

During this season of the Corona virus every individuals faith will be tested.

Every individual will know by revelation whether they are driven by fear or resting in faith in Christ. This is not a time to “shrink back” . With wisdom and safe health practices pray for the fearful. Pray for the sick. Anoint with oil using healthy practices as outlined by health officials.

Jesus is our model. He never shrunk back. He didn’t turn His back on those in need.

One word of warning, intent of heart needs to be pure to the best of your ability. Don’t test God and expose yourself to situations that are clearly risky without the intent to do the work of an evangelist. The outcome will not be beneficial to anyone involved.

Remember, as Jesus heard from the Father, that is what He did. We should be listening to the Shepherd through the indwelling Holy Spirit.
