When Jesus is not the Lord of one’s life, that life becomes prey to the demonic. Jesus said it simply, ‘ if you are not for me you are against’. You can’t be against Jesus and for Him at the same time. All you can attempt, is to have your own thoughts and present another person to your world. One thing on the inside and a mask to disguise the real you on the outside.
When God speaks about Himself, He says The Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, all your strength. Because we are made in His image we are one as God is one. One person. We can’t be two people. We can try however, and if we do there is no peace of heart and mind. Our lives become hypocritical. We actually are people with masks. Make no mistake, out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. Whether it is good or bad.
Consistency is one of the tests that prove we are living with no masks. No duplicity. The consistency is that of the Spirit of Christ. Listen to the place that consistency is birthed,
‘“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8
In the mind, the thoughts. What are you thinking about when your mind is free? Become vigilant to maintain the thought patterns of Godliness. Truth, honor, right, pure, lovely...! Think on these things.
This pattern will protect your heart and mind.
Like the Psalmist prayed, Lord, ‘May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart (mind) be acceptable in your sight.’ Pray!
