When a woman from Canaan met Jesus in the city she brought her daughter to Him with what she thought was an impossible situation. Her daughter was ‘cruelly possessed by a demon and it tormented her.’ This woman was not a Christian, she was one that was opposed to Jesus in her culture. Jesus was not politically correct because she had a different belief system.
Nevertheless her need pressed her to speak to Jesus and humble herself to ask Him for mercy. She said, ‘Have mercy on me O Lord, Son of David...’. (Mt. 15:22).
She was limited in that she had no ability to help her daughter or herself.
We have great limitations in that we come to every situation with three things, our life experience, our feelings and our ability to reason out a situation (pros and cons).
All are limited because we have no ability to see the outcome of our decisions until it’s to late. It mostly a guessing game and at best an educated decision.
Jesus has no limitations. The only limitation He has is what is outside of His character and nature. What is other than His nature He will not do for then He would not be perfectly unlimited.
Trust Jesus the unlimited One. He knows the beginning, the journey and the end of everything. If you are truly born of God then He is in you. He is unlimited inside of very limited people. He will give you revelation and in that revealing you will know His Good, perfect and pleasing will. You can trust it will be the best. Trust His unlimited ability in you.
Jesus spoke and the mothers very limited ability became unlimited in that Jesus healed her daughter. Mercy. Undeserved yet bestowed. Unlimited mercy.
If Jesus shows mercy to those that are not born again...how much more His own?
