When you meet someone new usually one of the first few questions they ask is, “so what do you do?”. Our answers can go from: I am a nurse, physical therapist, a mom, a dad, an electrician, a teacher, retired, unemployed. All things we do for a living. A vocation.
When you are born of God (Jn. 3:3) your vocation changes. Your living is no longer what you do to earn money or your place in life.
Our living is to know and understand Jesus. New vocation. Our pursuit is God not money or position. Do we need to work to earn money? Yes, however our focus in our vocation is now Jesus... and the money will follow. Your vision changes from how well can I do my job to, I will work as unto the Lord and what I do will glorify God. You will experience the presence of God in that pursuit. Peace and wholeness will be your portion.
What do you do? I am a Christian. My work (vocation) is to know Jesus (Jn. 6:29).
