Proverbs 12:6
The words of the wicked lie
in wait for blood,
But the mouth of the upright
will deliver them.

It’s sad to hear so many words from so many directions lying in wait for blood. Politicians, media personalities, entertainers, educators, coworkers, and the list goes on; just spewing words of hate, accusations and intolerance.

“...But the mouth of the upright will deliver them“.

When Jesus was mocked, accused, and lied about, when words were lying in wait for blood- He delivered them.

They got the blood... He gave His blood. As He did they mocked, insulted and cursed, but His words delivered... “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”

At death Jesus said, ”Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”

The confidence Jesus had in His Father allowed Him to commit His spirit to God and let the crowd say what they wanted.

When we commit our spirit to the Lord Jesus we will not get involved with foolish “words that lie in wait for blood“ but we’ll have words, His Words, and Jesus will “deliver them“.
