“But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the future. Now I will tell you your dream and the visions you saw as you lay on your bed.” Daniel 2:28

When God told Daniel the king’s secrets it was during a time that Daniel was a prisoner of war. The king had a dream and told the advisors of his day tell me my dream and the meaning. However, the king would not tell anyone his secret. The king had authority to execute people and threatened everyone with death if they didn’t tell the dream.

Daniel a prisoner of war prayed to the King of Kings and Lord of lords. He prayed to the Creator of all things seen and unseen. He prayed to the One that every soul belongs to. Daniel prayed to God. Not just any God. He prayed to Jesus.

Daniel was not a fortune teller. Daniel had faith in the true God and he trusted God without limits. Now God was revealing a promise to the king and to God’s own people that God is in complete and utter control of all things regardless of what it may seem to anyone. Daniel took time to seek first the kingdom of God for God’s purpose and God’s Plan. When Daniel sought out God’s way, God told Daniel the secrets.
